Drunken Bear

The media really latched onto this one, but there are all manner of reasons why a bear would act this way--none of them as benign as being drunk. When I worked for the Mass. Division of Fisheries and Wildlife the I and E chief (not a biologist) ran a piece in the magazine about alleged “drunken bears” in Florida, Mass. The media consumed it like stripers on rainbait. I didn’t buy it then, and I don’t buy it now. Turn up your volume: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0Xsqo-n_AE
