193 million acres of federal lands, public hunting and angling opportunities affected by new rule
WASHINGTON – A new planning rule released today by the U.S. Forest Service should enable the federal government to better address changing environmental circumstances and utilize new information to ensure the responsible management of 193 million acres of national forests and grasslands, the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership announced today.

The “Wilderness and Roadless Release Act of 2011” would remove protected status from inventoried roadless lands within the U.S. Forest Service system and make them subject to potential industrial development and allow for more road construction.
