Portland, ME, October 20, 2006 %16 Flyfishinginmaine.com (FFIM) is now accepting applications for project grants for 2007. FFIM is a non-profit web based fly fishing site that believes in giving back to the fly fishing community through both monetary grants and community service. The monetary grants may vary in size with the maximum grant awarded at $5000. %13This is our second year of handling our grants through an application process and we%12re excited to see what lies ahead for us and our community partners%14, said FFIM%12s Event Director Ken Beaulieu. %13We want to engage the Maine fly fishing community and we think there are many organizations out there that we just don%12t know about and could use our support%14, stated Beaulieu. Organizations submitting applications must be centered around fly fishing and have an impact on the Maine fly fishing community. The 2006 grant winners included the Rangeley Regions Guide and Sportsman%12s Association and the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Applications with full details can be found on FFIM%12s website, www.flyfishinginmaine.com. In an effort to meet our environmental goals and minimize the unnecessary use of natural resources, we are moving toward a paperless grant-making process and encourage the use of electronic applications. However, we understand that the Internet isn%12t available to everyone and applications can be mailed to the address below. All applications must be received no later than December 31, 2006.
