It's Tuesday; you're in the office staring at a spreadsheet. The weekend (and fishing) is too far away even to contemplate. You'd like to surf the Web for some fish porn but the boss is on your case, and images of fish and flies would certainly draw his attention. Solution: Download a fly-fishing podcast, put on the headphones and sit back and pretend to work.

For the people out there who don't know, a podcast is like a radio show that you can access through your computer. But unlike a radio show, which broadcasts according to a schedule, podcasts can be listened to whenever you choose (and you don't need an Apple iPod to listen). Simply click on the link and you've got fly-fishing entertainment at the office (and no one will be the wiser…).

At the present there are only a handful of fly-fishing-related podcast sites, but that will surely change as the medium spreads. Most of the podcasts feature interviews with guides, tiers and industry insiders, and the content can range from streamer tactics and photography to new fly patterns and the economics of rod manufacturing. Following are some of the podcasts we like to listen to here in the FR&R office:

globalflyfisher.com
Instead of interviews, the globalflyfisher.com podcasts are based around tips, tactics and fly-tying.

flyfishradio.com
The first fly-fishing podcast, flyfishradio.com has 18 episodes dating back to 2005. Highlights include interviews with Lefty Kreh and bamboo rodmaker Glenn Brackett.

itinerantangler.com
Although there are only six episodes of this podcast currently available, it is definitely worth a listen. A particularly interesting episode features an interview with Temple Fork Outfitters president Rick Pope.

askaboutflyfishing.com
This site allows its listeners to submit questions to some of the most respected names in fly-fishing including Brian O'Keefe, A.K. Best and Mike Lawson.
