As a part of a multimillion-dollar class-action lawsuit against the manufacturers of neoprene materials, California Trout will receive a portion of the $3 million settlement. The lawsuit, filed in California state court, contended that the neoprene manufacturers conspired to fix the price of neoprene, which led to consumers and sporting goods manufacturers (such as wader companies) being overcharged. The settlement will be divided among environmental and conservation organizations to support efforts around the state, such as protecting the golden trout in the high Sierra.
