Montauk Point is the guiding light for East Coast saltwater flyfishers each September and October. Steady streams of migratory fish visit the point each autumn.

Intercepting voracious schools of migratory fish is a fast and furious, unforgettable, angling technique for striped bass, the toothy bluefish and a nice false albacore.

Go-to patterns include small baitfish flies that imitate bay anchovies or “rain bait,” the predominant predator food in autumn.
