One Bill Fouhy writes (in part) in his hometown paper, The Billings Gazette: “….I suggest that a state or federal order be established that orders the Defenders of Wildlife to pay a $1,000 bounty for every wolf killed in Montana by a rancher, farmer, hunter or any other citizen. Of this $1,000 bounty, $500 would go into a fund to help compensate the local ranchers and farmers for their livestock damage and losses. The other $500 would go to the person who kills the wolf as a reward and payment for their kindness….”
